It’s almost been 10 years since you’ve been gone and we still miss you just as much as the day we found out you left us, I miss your cooking, the sleepovers during the summertime, and stealing your newspaper so I could read the cartoons. I always hope that when I become a grandparent I’ll be just like you, a truly selfless person. We talk about you still everyday and cherish every memory, like you never left, and that’s the way I like it. 
I love you so much.

Tomorrow would have been your 98th birthday, and the ache of missing you and Mimi never truly fades. So much has changed since I last saw you, yet my love for you both remains untouched. I still think about the little moments like your stories, your laughs, the warmth of being around you. Those memories come back to me in quiet moments and during the milestones where I wish you were still here. I’ll never forget you.
