

Doris was born on October 11, 1930, in Lenoir, North Carolina, to Etta and Thomas “Bud” Nelson. She pursued her passion for helping others by earning her certification as a nurse. On February 19, 1948, she married the love of her life, Joe Dellinger, in Spartanburg, South Carolina. He preceded her in passing.
Doris dedicated her career to caring for others, working as a nurse at Hurley Hospital and several nursing homes throughout Genesee County. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, cherishing time with her family above all else.
She is survived by her children: Pete Dellinger, Doris “Sissy” Adenall (John), Debra Valdes (Carlos), and Cynthia Gentilini. She was preceded in death by four of her children: Steve, Jimmy, Mary Alice, and Randy.
Doris leaves behind a loving legacy through her 16 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. She is reunited in heaven with her grandson Eric Nierman, who passed before her.
Visitation will be held on March 5, with family visitation from 3:00–4:00 PM, followed by public visitation from 4:00–7:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on March 6, 2025, at Brown Funeral Home, located at 1480 E Hill Rd, Grand Blanc, Michigan. Visitation will take place on the day of the funeral from 12:00 PM until the service begins. Interment to follow at Flint Memorial Park, Mt. Morris, Michigan
Doris will be deeply missed but forever remembered for her kindness, dedication, and the love she shared with her family and friends.
