Eva Barbara Zielinski, aka Little Bit, was born on June 18, 1931 to Nicholas and Catherine (Bachman) Bastian. She married Edmund Zielinski Sr. on September 15, 1951 who preceded her in death on May 20, 1993. Eva worked at Clara Barton Nursing Home in Burton, Michigan where she served up food and love to the residents. Speaking of love, to know Eva was to love her. Her sweet, bubbly personality was contagious and all that met her fell in love with her. Eva enjoyed crocheting and we shall treasure her afghans and kitchen towels for years to come. Eva lived and breathed Country music. Eva and her sister Rose would kick up their heels to Little Jimmy Dickens before he became famous and had the opportunity to meet up with him again in Flint, MI where she once again sat in his lap and received a kiss on the cheek. She met several other Country music stars along her life’s journey, but her next favorite was when Scotty McCreery presented her with his autographed guitar and a kiss on her cheek for her 84th Birthday. She may never have washed her cheek again. Eva enjoyed traveling and experienced deep sea fishing, Washington DC, Atlantic City, a cruise to Hawaii, Gatlinburg, Memphis, Rock City, Florida and of course Nashville. She also enjoyed time with family, bingo, gardening, HGTV, Wheel of Fortune and Hallmark Movies.
Eva was preceded in death by; 7 brothers, Nicholas, John, Joseph, Michael, Frank, Wilfred (Bill) and Henry; 4 sisters, Dorothy Jean, Catherine, Rosemary and Elizabeth; son in-law, Jerry Petrella; and her first-born Great Grandchild, Sarah.
