HENNING, Gerald J. – age 95, passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at the Pines of Goodrich. Visitation will be Monday, September 21, 2015 from 2PM-8PM. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at 11AM at Hill Funeral Home – 11723 S. Saginaw St. Grand Blanc, MI with one hour of visitation prior to the service. Rev. Joe Cottam and Pastor Joel Baxter officiating. Burial will take place at White Chapel Memorial Park Cemetery in Troy, MI. Gerald was born May 7, 1920 in Detroit, MI to the late Frank and Hattie (Dupke) Henning. He served his country in the United States Army during WWII. He married Mildred M. Mann in 1941, who preceded him in death on September 21, 1982. Gerald later married Barbara (Smith) Henning in February 1984. Gerald was a strong yet very kind man. He had a great sense of humor and was a wonderful father. Gerald is survived by his wife, Barbara Henning; children, Jerry (Jackie) Henning, Wayne (Karen) Henning, Nancy Firestone, Lorraine (Garry) Rice; step-children, Tom (Carolyn) Mogford, Debbie (Dennis) Horkey, Jim (Shelly) Mogford, Bill (Kelly) Mogford, Mary (Rod) Kipp, Sue Kurtz and Greg Hamilton, Jane (Mike) Gunderson; grandchildren, Gerald Ward Henning, Heidi (Phillip) Komar, Wayne (Kerri) Henning Jr., Wendy (Eric) Joslyn, Todd (Molly) Firestone, Tanya Firestone, Joel (Kristina) Baxter, Brieanna Baxter; 17 step-grandchildren, Mike, Meggin, Todd, Dennis, Katie, Maggie, Jenny, Jamie, Beth, Abbey, Aimee, Matt, Tim, Erin, Kelsey, Callie and Jenelle.; great-grandchildren, Alycia, Sage, Blake, Garrett, Shelby, Carly, Zoe, Dalton, Victoria, Gunner, John, George, Jack, Kyle, Kaitlyn, Milyana; 18 step-great-grandchildren; and sister, Lorraine Thibodeau. He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Mildred Henning; brother, Frank Henning Jr.; sister, Mildred Campbell; and twin sister, Ruth Adkins.
