Herbert Junior Draheim

DRAHEIM, Herbert J. – Age 79, of Flint, died Sunday, December 19, 2010 at Avalon Hospice. Mr. Draheim was born September 1, 1931 in Flint the son of Theodore Herbert and Sylvia (Peterson) Draheim. He graduated from Flint Central High School in 1949. Herb served his country during the Korean War. In 1950 Herb hired into Buick Motor Company and retired in 1987. After retirement he continued to work with Lear Corp. and Venture for 10 more years. Herb was an avid sportsman and gardener, devoted husband, father, and friend. On December 6, 1952 Herb married Janeen Peterson and she survives him. Also surviving are sons, Ronald, David (Charlotte), Theodore, George (Janine), Thomas (Jennifer), 9 grandchildren,11 great grandchildren. Mr. Draheim was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore Herbert and Sylvia Draheim, granddaughter Dawn and brother Leo. Friends may visit the family at Hill Funeral Home, 11723 S. Saginaw St., Grand Blanc, from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Messiah Lutheran Church, 520 Butler, Clio, MI. Pastor Eric Cloeter will officiate. Burial will follow at Crestwood Memorial Cemetery.
