James was born in Pikeville, Kentucky to parents Thomas and Pricey Thacker Chaney. James moved to Flushing, Michigan where he met and married, Sharon Kay Lamb Chaney. After a successful career in the trucking industry, he became a distinguished business owner in Flint, Michigan.
James returned to the place of his birth shortly after the death of his beloved wife, Sharon in 2013. After deciding retirement wasn’t for him, he opened and managed 460 Trailer Sales of West Liberty, Kentucky.
He had a genuine desire to walk a path that was honest and honorable. His earthly prosperity pales in comparison to the unconditional love that he had for his family and friends; a love that is only possible after truly knowing and experiencing Jesus Christ as LORD and Savior.
James is survived by his son, Terry (Dana) Chaney; grandchildren: Nathan, Gavin, Griffin, Ava; sister, Garnell Keen; treasured friend, Barbara Charles and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, two brothers, Ted and Curtis Chaney; and two sisters, Avonelle Bartley and Glendine Bates. A private ceremony is planned for the family.
I Corinthians 15:50-58.
