Jeffrey Linn Eckelbecker, 68, of Burton, Michigan, Born on May 8, 1956, to Ronald and Carolyn (Estes) Eckelbecker, passed away on Thursday, May 16, 2024, at Mission Point in Holly—a place symbolically marked by a lighthouse, reflecting one of Jeffrey's most cherished passions. He was a man who deeply valued the natural world, dedicating his life to tree farming and environmental stewardship.
A man of diverse interests, Jeffrey’s enthusiasm for motorcycles was matched only by his skill in discussing and admiring these mechanical marvels. His spirit of adventure was kindled by the TV show “American Pickers,” leading him to seek out treasures and curiosities that filled our home with stories and charm. His flower gardens were a labor of love, offering a sanctuary of beauty and peace.
His playful nature shone through in games of "slug bug" and "Jeep" during car rides—a game at which he was the undisputed champion. His love for lighthouses guided him and his wife, Sharon, on a quest to visit every public Michigan lighthouse, including the discovery of one not listed on any map.
Jeffrey's memory is also honored by remembering his son, Johnny, who tragically passed away in a fire in 1992 at the tender age of 15. This profound loss is a poignant part of Jeffrey's story and is held close in the hearts of those who loved him.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Sharon; stepsons Gilbert Mirsky, Barry Stokes, and Brian Stokes; son Joey Porter; and siblings Denise Young and Shelly Fry.
In accordance with Jeffrey's wishes, cremation has taken place.
To honor Jeffrey's memory, in lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Jeffrey’s memory can provide financial support to his beloved wife, Sharon, to assist during this challenging time.
