

Jerry Nelson Foutch – Age 84, died Saturday, September 12, 2015 at McLaren Flint. Jerry was born December 2, 1930 in Friendship, TN and grew up in Alexandria, TN. In 1951 he moved to Flint with his mother and brothers. He served in the Army, USAR Artillery from 1951 – 1953. He was stationed in Anchorage, AK. He was trained as a Field Radio Mechanic. Jerry was a thirty second degree Mason belonging to the The Valley Bay City Northern Masonic Jurisdiction and was a member since 1958. He was deeply involved as a member of the Grand Blanc American Legion Post #413, and thoroughly enjoyed his friends and the work he contributed there. Jerry served as Past Commander, Past President of the home association and Past Finance Manager. As a young father he enjoyed riding dirt bikes with his son and friends. Jerry loved the outdoors and enjoyed many years of hunting and fishing with his good friend, Jim Needham who preceded him in death. His passion was Indy and Nascar races and he attended many races for several years. He had a large family room with a large screen TV which he referred to as his “Man Cave”. He passionately loved the Tigers, Lions, Red Wings, basketball, both professional, college and local high schools. He also attended many local Halo Burger baseball games who were formed and coached by his youngest brother, Roger Foutch. Jerry worked as an electrician and attended GMI. He was employed at GM for 32 years. He worked at Plant Four, C.P.C. Flint Manufacturing (Chevrolet, Pontiac, Canada). Jerry retired in 1986 as a Superintendent and then went on to be a consultant with other companies. He is survived by his wife, Gale and son, David, 4 brothers and sister-in-laws, Bill (Sharon), Harold (Darlene, Ronnie (Pam) and Roger (Charlotte) and several nieces and nephews. Two step-daughters, Lisa Francoeur and Brenda Nimmo. He was preceded in death by both his mother Lois Foutch and his father Robert Foutch. Burial will take place at 9:30 a.m. at The Great Lakes National Cemetery. There will be a breakfast immediately following at the Grand Blanc American Legion Post #413, 3756 E. Grand Blanc Rd., Grand Blanc, MI. You are invited to share your stories and memorable moments.
