HARKNESS, Joanne E. – age 78 of Fenton, MI passed away Sunday, January 25, 2015 at her residence. Per her wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 from 2PM-8PM at the funeral home. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church at 11AM on Thursday, January 29, 2015 – 600 N. Adelaide St., Fenton, MI 48430, with one hour of visitation prior. Father Dwight Ezop celebrant. Joanne was born April, 29 1936 in Flint, MI to the late William and Mary (Walsh) Lesperance. She married Larry Warden on July 31, 1973 in Flint. Joanne worked as a baker and dietician for Genesys Convalescent Center from 1988 - 2001. Her husband Larry passed away on October 24, 1999. She married Jerry Harkness in 2001 in Flint, MI. He preceded her in death in 2010. Surviving are her sons, Glen Minton and special friend Robby Beemer, William “Bill” Helias; daughters, Rebecca Brewster and Lee Sowders, and Denise Carter; stepchildren, Adam Warden, Mark (Laurie) Johnson, Philip (Regina) Johnson, Joanna Bradburn, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, 2 brothers, and 3 sisters. She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, Larry Warden; second husband, Jerry Harkness; daughter, Suzette Wandrie; brother, Leo Lesperance; and sister, Leona Worden.
