It is with deep sorrow and abiding love that we announce the passing of John Thomas Reo, age 78, on May 15th 2025. A devoted man of faith, a faithful and compassionate husband, a loving and doting father and grandfather, a proud veteran, and a masterful craftsman, John departed this world peacefully, reunited in eternity with his beloved wife, Monica, who preceded him in death just five months earlier.
Born on March 8th 1947, John lived a life rooted in service, integrity, and unwavering faith in God. He answered the call to serve his country as a member of the United States Navy, bravely serving during the Vietnam War. His time in the Navy forged in him a deep sense of discipline and honor that he carried throughout his life.
Following his military service, John built a respected career as a contractor. With gifted hands and an eye for detail, he constructed more than just homes and buildings—he built a legacy of excellence and trust that will stand for generations. He approached his work with the same devotion he gave to his family and his faith: wholeheartedly, humbly, and skillfully.
A man of steadfast belief, John lived out his faith daily through quiet acts of kindness, service to others, and the way he loved his family. He is survived by his two cherished daughters, Andrea Reo (Rich Pethick) and Mary Plude (RJ Plude), and five treasured grandsons; Joe, Jack, John, Peter and AJ, each of whom brought him immense pride and joy. His role as grandpa was one he held with honor and warmth, and his grandsons will carry forward the lessons of hard work, faith, and love that he instilled in them. He is also survived by his loving siblings Christine Reo, Margaret Raley (Kim Raley) and Michael Reo ( Sheri Reo) and their wonderful children.
Though our hearts are heavy with grief, we find peace in knowing that John is now at rest in the presence of the Lord, joyfully reunited with his beloved, Monica. His life was a testament to faith, family, and perseverance. He leaves behind not just memories, but a living legacy in the lives he touched.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.” — Matthew 25:23
