COMPEAU, Lawrence T. (Sonny) of Goodrich, age 86, passed away Friday, November 30, 2018 at his home. Funeral services will be held 11 am Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at the Goodrich United Methodist Church, 8071 S. State Road, Goodrich, Michigan with Pastor Joel Wather officiating. Burial at Crestwood Cemetery. Visitation 2 to 8 pm Monday at Hill Funeral Home, 11723 S. Saginaw Street, Grand Blanc, Michigan and at church from 10 to 11 am Tuesday. Larry was born August 27, 1932 in Flint, Michigan the son of the late Lawrence and Lucille Compeau. He proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1952 to 1953 and was a trained cook having attended the Army Culinary School. Later he was employed by the Seven Up Co. and then by General Motors in Plant Protection. After he retired he worked at Reigle Funeral Home and also for Brinks Armored Car. He was a past member of the Lions Club and was a member of the Goodrich United Methodist Church where he served on many committees and volunteered for the Ringspiration Bell Choir of his church. Larry also volunteered at Hurley Health and Fitness Center helping MS patients. Surviving are: wife, Linda Compeau; children: Linda and Larry Blondin of Fenton, Michael and Cindy Compeau of Davison, Brenda and Mark Roberts of Elwell, and Daniel and Deborah Compeau of Goodrich; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; sisters, Cathy and Bill Lesperance of Lapeer and Carolyn Compeau of Davison; brothers, Tom and Sandy Compeau of Cary, NC and Dallas and Gloria Compeau of Standish; brother-in-law, Dar and Beverly Johnson of Jonesboro, GA. Mr. Compeau was preceded in death by his first wife Nancy. The family wishes to thank Dr. Sabbagh and the doctors and nurses of the Genesys / Hurley Oncology Center and the staff of Reverance Hospice and Home Care.
