

STEWART, Leonard F., age 80, of Grand Blanc, died Monday, May 30, 2011 at Genesys Regional Medical Center. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 6, 2011 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 11804 S. Saginaw Street, Grand Blanc, Fr. Ken Coughlin officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday, June 5, from 1-4 p.m. & 6-8 p.m. at the Hill Funeral Home, 11723 S. Saginaw St., Grand Blanc, and also Monday, the hour prior to the service. Leonard was born on
July 4, 1930 in Flint, son of William and Martha (Steinmetz) Stewart. He graduated in 1948 from Flint Central High School and General Motors Institute (Kettering) in 1952 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. On March 7, 1953 he married Barbara Munch in Flint. Leonard served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955. He retired from AC Spark Plug Division-GMC in 1984 following 38 years of service and performed contract work for automotive companies from 1985 to 1996. He was a longtime member of Holy Family Catholic Church, SAE, B.P.O.E. Lodge #222 of Flint, and the Retired Men’s Fellowship of Flint. He enjoyed skiing, golf, bowling, pheasant hunting, computers and cruises. Leonard is survived by his wife of 58 years, Barbara; daughters Jean Ann (Todd) Goosman and Joanne Lee (Wm. Polik) Stewart; grandchildren Rebecca (Will) Chivington, Benjamin Goosman, Robert and Katie Polik.
