Mrs. Lottie Cranford, daughter of the late Josephine and Mike Nichiporuk was born August 15, 1922 in Detroit, Michigan and was the oldest of five children. She lived an eventful life working and traveling between here and the west coast until she joined the United States Army in 1944. She achieved the rank of Sargent and was honorably discharged in July 1946. After the army she went back to traveling between Michigan and California for work in sales. In 1962 she finally settled back in Michigan and carved out her own business selling crafts and baked goods at the Royal Oak Farmers Market for the next 24 years. Once she retired she threw herself in to her love of gardening and spending time with her animals until she had to give up her independence and move into Stonegate Health Campus at the age of 94. During the three years she resided there her spunky nature coupled with being a Sargent in the Army kept everyone on their toes and helped her meet and cherish many friends and caregivers. Lottie passed peacefully into the arms of our lord and savior on March 14, 2019. She is survived by her daughter Aura D. Detheridge (Gary) of Metamora as well as six cousins and their families. She is predeceased by her siblings Eleanor, Anna, Alex and Michael. Contributions in her memory can be made to Pets ln Peril 2551 Paducah Street, Flint Michigan 48504 or Paradise Animal Rescue, 2266 N. Lapeer Road Lapeer Michigan 48446.
