

EHRLICH, Mary Jean, age 67, of Flint, died Friday, August 3, 2012 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Memorial Service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 8, 2012, at Christ the King Catholic Church, 1811 Seymour Avenue, Flint, with Rev. Fr. Phil Schmitter officiating. The family will receive friends at the church Wednesday from 10 am until time of service. The family will also receive friends from 4 pm to 8 pm Tuesday, August 7, at the Brown Funeral Home, 1480 E. Hill Road, Grand Blanc. A Scripture Service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Mary was born on February 12, 1945 in Wyandotte, Michigan, daughter of the late Dr. James and Ruth (Dallas) Spens. Mary had earned a Masters Degree and was a teacher in the Flint School District for over 32 years. She also had taught at Baker College of Flint for 10 years and most recently was a counselor with the Gerholz Counseling Center in Flint. An avid reader, Mary started several book clubs and also started the bridge club which she was a part of for 30 years. She is survived by her daughter Monika Ehrlich, granddaughter Abigail Ehrlich-Garner, loving companion Fred Vest, sisters Patricia (Gerald) Jasinski and Shellie (Francisco Bustos) DeVries, nephew Michael (Cathy) Jasinski, nieces Ruth Ann (Steve) Brown and Pam (Jim) Blue.
