Michael Duane Lozen

29 February, 19648 February, 2021

Michael Duane "Mike" Lozen, age 56, of Burton, Michigan passed away Monday - February 8, 2021. Mike was born on "Leap Day", February 29, 1964 (so actually, he is only 14 years old !). Mike was born the middle child to William Michael Lozen and Beverly Jean (nee: McComas). Mike was a TV fanatic in his youth and continued throughout his life. He was an avid clandestine artist drawing action figures and comic book characters. He rarely showed his works to others, as talented as they were. He was typically quiet in demeanor but had a huge heart and had a well-honed sense of humor.

Mike is survived by his daughter, Courtney (Lozen) Bowles; son, Anthony Lozen; sister, Cheryl Metivier; brother, Mark (Renee) Lozen; granddaughter, Lily Bowles; mother of his children Lynn Allen; nieces, Jessica McClain, Chantal Lozen and Krystle (Matthew) Groshart; nephew, Matthew Dimitroff; and fiancée Lisa Rapin Kuhn.

In addition to his parents, Mike was pre-deceased by his brother-in-law, Lewis Metivier.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Mike Lozen to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society - 3 International Drive, Suite 200, Rye Brook, NY 10573 (888) 557-7177 (

Mike's 48th (12th) birthday and his reaction to his gift...
I bought him a new laptop ( from the Campus Bookstore ) with enhanced graphics to accommodate his love of designing characters via PoserPro and hopefully kickstart his web design business ( I had no clue web design was dying out thanks to PHP) plus a HUGE cupcake (the cupcake became an annual tradition...) on my way home from classes. It wasn't his first laptop by far, but he told me it was the first that was exclusively his. He got teary-eyed over the gift, devoured the cupcake and proceeded to design a character representing me. The image below is his rendering of he and I...
