Mildred B. Murphy

MURPHY, Mildred B. – of Saginaw, age 82, died Thursday, November 4, 2010 at the Saginaw Geriatrics Home. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday, November 8, 2010 at Oakwood Mausoleum, 5950 Gratiot Road, Saginaw, MI 48638 with Dr. Robert Emrich officiating. The family will receive friends at the mausoleum chapel from 10 a.m. Monday until time of services. Mildred was born July 3, 1928 in Saginaw, MI the daughter of the late Roland and Elsie Davis. She graduated from Saginaw High School. Mrs. Murphy was employed at J.C. Penney’s in customer service, retiring after many years of service. She was a member and did volunteer work at the Y.M.C.A. She was also a member of the Presbyterian Church and had sung in the choir. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who enjoyed spoiling her grandkids. Surviving are: children, Pat Murphy, Kathleen (Jeff) Bauer and Tim (Julie) Murphy; grandchildren, Jonathan, Matthew, James, Elizabeth and Raymond; and a great-grandson in Texas; brothers and sisters, Martin (Dort) Davis, Jane (Don) Spencer, Fred (Edna) Davis, and Charlie (Mary) Davis; and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Murphy was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond and grandson, Patrick. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Michigan Chapter, Central Michigan Region, 4604 N.
