Mrs. Crane was born in Detroit on February 27, 1932, to the late Andrew and Fern Lockridge. She attended Michigan State University from 1950-1954, graduating with a BS degree in Education. She later returned in 1970 to receive a Masters Degree. She was employed by the Flint Board of Education and retired after 18 1/2 years of service in 1990.
She was a member of the Flint Elks Lodge #222 and also a lifetime member of the DOES. Nadine was a past member of the St. Cecilia Society and a member of the Needlework Guild of America.
Nadine was married to Alexander Crane for 49 years until his passing in 2003. Together, they raised six children who also graduated from Michigan State University.
Beloved wife of the late Alexander; adored mother of Stephen (Janine) Crane, Linda Krebs, Amy (Philip) Patterson, Patricia (Greg) Frederick, Paul Crane, and Laurie (Aaron) Vandyke; proud grandma of Daniel Krebs, Eby (Luke) Krawczyk, Katelyn (Chad) Wheeler, Alex (Alexa) Patterson, Matthew Crane, David (Katie) Crane, Gus Frederick, Nicholas Vandyke, Joseph Vandyke, Amy Vandyke, and Henry Vandyke; great-grandma of Charlie, Patrick, Julia, and a baby boy on the way; dear sister of the late Patty Sue Larson, and the late Barbara Jo MacLellan. Nadine is also survived by her sister-in-law Dorothy (Louie) Spizarny, brother-in-laws Donald Larson and Alex MacLellan, many extended family members and close friends.
The family will greet friends from 4:00pm- 7:00pm on Tuesday, July 28 at Brown Funeral Home, 1480 E. Hill Rd., Grand Blanc. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00am on Wednesday, July 29 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 2415 Bagley St., Flint. Visitation at church from 10:00am until time of Mass. Father Thomas Firestone officiating. Entombment following at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that contributions be directed to St. John Vianney Catholic Church Memorial Fund in honor of Nadine.
