Nona Gertrude Ringen

RINGEN, Nona – age 92, passed away on June 19, 2017 in Grand Blanc, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 from 4pm – 8pm at Hill Funeral Home – 11723 S. Saginaw Street, Grand Blanc, Michigan. A funeral service will be on Thursday, June 29, 2017 at 11am with one hour of visitation prior to the service at Faith Lutheran Church – 12534 Holly Road, Grand Blanc, Michigan with Pastor Todd Biermann officiating. Nona was born August 10, 1924 in John Day, Oregon to John and Mrytle (McKern) Silvers. Nona touched and enriched many, many lives. She cherished her Lord and her family. She loved books, nature, travel, and watching sports. She viewed each day as a blessing and bloomed where she was planted. Nona is survived by her children: David (Pam Stern), Mia (Craig) Hubert, Jim (Alice); niece and nephew who she raised as her own Kristi (Bob) Dixon and Peter; 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, of almost 60 years, Harvey; daughter, Rebecca; and her son John and wife (Jodi). In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to a charity of your choice, Faith Lutheran Church, or to the family to be used for a memorial tree in Oregon.
