He was born on June 29, 1932 in McBain, Michigan, the son of James and Mabel Welsh.
Our father was a steady presence in our lives — quiet in his strength, generous in his love, and deeply devoted to his family. He showed us the importance of hard work, integrity, and showing up for the people you care about. His love was constant, and his guidance shaped who we are today. We are grateful for the 93 years we had with him and will carry his memory with us always.
Raymond is survived by his children: James Welsh; Shirley Szabo; Gary (Robin) Welsh; Sharon (Mike) Kolodynski; Susan Welsh (Jim Beaubien); and Kathi (Chris) Schollar.
He is also survived by his grandchildren: Brian Welsh; Tami Welsh; Melissa and Kristi Kochenderfer; James Welsh II; Courtney (Boyd) Wolff; Danielle (Carson) Szabreath; Denae (Kyle) LeBeau; Andrew Welsh; Violet, Jourdan, and Jasmine Miller; Katie and Sydney Beaubien; and Riley and Blake McQueary; as well as several great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Don Welch and several neices and nephews.
