

Funeral services will be held at Hill Funeral Home, 11723 S. Saginaw St., in Grand Blanc at 10am on February 3rd . Visitation, February 2nd, from 4 to 8.
Robert was born, November 28th, 1918, in Muncie, Indiana. In 1941, he graduated from Purdue University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Robert went on to have a successful career at General Motors, and rose to the position of General Manufacturing Manager of Buick for has last 13 years until his retirement in 1980.
In 1942, Robert was introduced to Bessie N. Newberry in Atlanta, Georgia. “She was the first woman I met that made my heart jump,” he would later recall. They would be married for 52 years, until Bessie’s passing in 1996. He also spent 11 happy years with his beloved companion, Josephine Strobel.
Robert had a deep passion for life, loved to travel, and had a commitment to community service. He was active the Republican Party, a skilled negotiator for Buick with the UAW, and a talented fundraiser. He had faith in America, its people, and the free market.
Robert is survived by his three children: David Breeden, of Beverly Hills, MI; Margaret Adrian, his daughter-in-law; James Breeden, of San Francisco, CA; Emily Breeden, of Flint, MI.; and his two grandsons, Alexander Breeden and Christopher Breeden. Also, he is survived by his sister Dorothy DeVoe, of Alexander, IN.
He has requested donations to be sent to the Flint Institute of Music.
