Shirley William Payne

PAYNE, SHIRLEY WILLIAM age 92, of Burton, MI, expired on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at the Genesys Hospice Care Center. Funeral Services will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, March 2, 2013 at the Brown Funeral Home, 1480 E. Hill Rd., Grand Blanc, MI, 48439. Friends may visit the family Friday from 3:00 to 8:00 P.M. Mr. Payne was born July 18, 1920 in Leicester, England, U.K. the son of William and Edith Ann (Lane) Payne. Shirley loved deer hunting and traveling. He served his country during W.W. II as a Military Police Officer. Mr. Payne retired from A.C. Spark Plug in 1976 as a Line Supervisor. Shirley came to the U.S. when he was 7 years old. In November of 1951, Shirley married Leetha V. Mason who survives him. Also surviving are sons Jeffery (Pam) Payne of Flint, Bradley (Mary) Payne of Otisville; six grandchildren Dylan Payne, Macy Payne, Aileen (Shawn) Niles, Cristine (Larry) Laporte, Randy Cocking and James (Katy) Cocking and thirteen great-grandchildren. Mr. Payne was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Gladys Bolderson and Edna Osborne. Memorial contributions may be made to the Water and Woods Boy Scout Council or a charity of your choice in lieu of flowers.
