Quotes from her kids:
“I will miss my mother's strength the most. She is tough because she had to be to raise three kids alone. My mother always tried to teach me that I am strong like she is, I hope that's true. I love you mom, thank you for all you have taught me. I hope I continue to make you proud. Love, Carla.”
“A mother's love is the greatest love, after God's. My mother's love was selfless, forgiving, and unconditional. The most important lesson I learned from her was forgiveness. She always forgave me, regardless of how badly I messed up or what I did. She didn't only talk about forgiveness; she led by example. My mother instilled in me the need to forgive both myself and others to avoid being angry. Then she began her walk with God, who teaches us how to forgive. If God can forgive us for our sins, then we can forgive too. Thank you, Mom, for never giving up on me; I hope to keep making you proud. Love Jenn”
“My mom overcame so much in her life. She had to fight for everything, nothing was easy for her. As a kid I saw first hand her determination to not give up and her strength to overcome. As an adult I witnessed the same determination and strength as she battled cancer. I am and will forever be grateful for the mom she was to me and my sisters. She was just as good of a grandma. She was affectionately known as “Grandma T” to all her grandkids. Mom you are truly missed, thank you for doing your best to shape me into the man I am today. I will see you again! Love Always Your Son Erik”
Terry leaves to cherish her memory her loving children: Erik (Danielle) Tibbets, Carla (Andrew) Rivard and Jennifer Tibbets (Christopher Lee); and grandchildren: Ethan Sarianna, Addallee and Maisey Tibbets; Christiian and Aiden Rivard; and Zarah, Jerremiah and Thomas.
Terry was preceded in death by many loving family members.
A memorial visitation for Terry will be held Friday, November 15, 2024 at 6:00 PM at Faith Apostolic Church of Troy - 6710 Crooks Road, Troy, Michigan, followed by a memorial service at 7:00 PM.
