

Beloved husband of Rowena; father of Anthony and Theodore, Jr.; proud grandpa of seven; dear brother of Paul Lyons, Jr. and Louise Paris. Ted was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Dorothy; brother Ronald; sister Ann; and son Christopher.
Ted was born in Livonia, Michigan on October 14, 1962. He graduated U of D/ Mercy High School and attended Texas Tech, where he received his Bachelor of Arts. He was most recently employed at Michigan First Credit Union as a Branch Manager at the Brighton office.
Ted was a big part of the mortgage and real estate industry, both as a provider of financing options and a giver of his time. He helped hundreds of people every year realize the dream of homeownership. He was a long term member of the Livingston County Association of Realtors, the Greater Brighton Area Chamber of Commerce, and Member of the BNI network and presented the “notable network award” for many years. Ted was a founder and organizer of the "Adopt a Highway" program at Michigan First Mortgage where he volunteered his time to keeping a section of Highway 23 clean and green, and the recipient of 2018 Michigan First Way Leadership Award. He was part of Referrals Unlimited, a BNI Chapter for business networking where he currently held the role of Visitor Host. He started out with BNI in 2008 and became a Founding Member of his current chapter Referrals Unlimited in 2014. He had taken on all the roles within the chapter from President, Treasurer, Mentor, Education Coordinator and several other roles, and was also a current member of MMLA (Michigan Mortgage Lenders Association) and past board member of the MMBA (Michigan Mortgage Brokers Association).
The family will greet friends from 4:00pm until time of Memorial Service at 7:00pm on Friday, December 18, 2020 at Hill Funeral Home, 11723 S. Saginaw St., Grand Blanc, Michigan. The family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to Friends of Kenyan Orphans or the American Heart Association.
In compliance with state and local mandates, guests in attendance will be limited to 25 while in the funeral home, facial coverings must be worn, and social distancing will be enforced.
