Valerie K. Murray Miller

Valerie K. Miller, age 73 of Durand, passed away on Tuesday, May 30, 2017. She was born on January 17, 1944 in Flint to parents Ralph and Thelma (Lennox) Murray. Valerie taught adult education at Carman-Ainsworth in Flint and also was an Avon sales representative. In her spare time she enjoyed traveling across many states and countries, playing euchre and other card games, and spending time with her grandchildren who she loved with all of her heart. Valerie is survived by her husband of 54 years, James C. Miller; children: James R. Miller, Rodney (Leighann) Miller, and Troy Miller; grandchildren: Ashley (Kevin) Wood, Denton Miller, Christian Penn, Kevin Slatina, Olivia Miller, and Savannah Miller; great grandchildren: Avery Wood, Tara Wood, Tyler Wood; brothers: Paul Murray and Jim (Janice) Murray. She was preceded in death by both parents and her brother Jerry Murray. A funeral service will be held at 1pm on Friday, June 2, 2017 at Brown Funeral Home, 1480 E. Hill Rd., Grand Blanc. Visitation will take place from 2-4pm and 6-8pm on Thursday, June 1, 2017 at Brown Funeral Home.
