

Mr. Wilkerson was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
He is survived by four daughters, Karen S. Yarian of Herndon, Kansas, Janet L. Rorick and Vera F. Banford, both of Oberlin, Kansas, and Linda J. Hill of Grand Junction; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Albert Ernest Wilkerson
September 8, 1924 - February 7, 2016
Albert Ernest Wilkerson of Clifton, CO, was born September 8, 1924, in Costa Mesa, CA and died February 7, 2016, of natural causes. He lived 28 years in the Grand Valley; the first years off 24 Road.
He was the son of Albert Scott Wilkerson and Edna Mae Allen. He went to high school in Phippsburg, CO, where he met his future bride, Lina A. Peters. He joined the US Navy in 1942. He and Lina were married in San Francisco on April 11, 1945. She preceded him in death in 1994.
Al married Arlyne Potter in Albuquerque, NM in 2004, she died in April of 2012.
Al was a US Naval Submariner retiree of 20 years, he worked ten years as a Government Civil Service. He was a member of the Masons and belonged to the Fruita Lodge No. 120.
Al is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Wanda Wilkerson and Edward A. Wilkerson, and his daughter, Dorothy A. Wilkerson.
He is survived by daughters, Karen S. Yarian, Herndon, KS; Janet L. (James M.) Rorick, Oberlin, KS; Linda J. (Rodney L.) Hill, Grand Junction, CO, and Vera F. Banford, Oberlin, KS; nine grandchilren; 16 great-grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and sister-in-law, Neva (Dutch) Ebaugh.
A memorial service will be Monday February 15, 2016, 1:00 p.m. at the Masonic Center, 2400 Consistory Ct., Grand Junction.
