Angie was raised on a farm in North Dakota before moving at the age of 5 to Sheboygan, WI, where she made lifelong friends. She was touched by the many cards, flowers, and phone calls she received from members of the Sheboygan South High School class of 1963 toward the end of her life.
Angie loved nothing more than spending time with her family, and she took on roles that supported them and her community. Some of her favorites were spearheading an early recycling program in Thiensville, WI (which included Saturdays dressed as Woodsy the Owl) and leading youth programs at her children's schools. She was proud of her Norwegian heritage, with cross-country skiing and making lefse some of her favorite pastimes. Angie graduated from Concordia University Wisconsin and went on to work in multiple early childhood education settings in the Milwaukee area. After moving to Grand Junction, she became a favorite babysitter for many children, whom she loved like family.
Angie was the daughter of the late Millard & Agnes (Lunde) Flom and is also preceded in death by her husband, Don, and brothers Merlin and Don. She is survived by daughters Sarah (Mike) Johnson of Grand Junction and Stephanie (Mike) Arnot of Toronto, as well as five grandchildren: Annika Johnson, Juliette Arnot, Willa Arnot, Owen Arnot, and Fred Arnot. She will be terribly missed by her family and the many who considered her family.
A private family gathering will be held this summer in Wisconsin. Contributions may be made in Angie's name to the Parkinson's Foundation or One Riverfront in Grand Junction.
The family sends a special thank you to the kind and supportive staff at Grand Villa Assisted Living and HopeWest.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.MartinMortuary.com for the Rice family.
