Celebrating a Life Well Lived
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Barbara Anne (Brandt) Hudson,
who departed this life on September 16, 2025, in Grand Junction, Colorado, at the age of
70. Surrounded by family, Barbara left behind many cherished memories that will continue
to make those who knew her best smile.
Born on September 11, 1955, in Denver, Colorado, Barbara was the beloved child of John
Brandt Jr. and Lorraine (Kagle) Brandt. From an early age, Barbara demonstrated a profound
love for animals, ranging from horses to cats and dogs; she connected with and adored all
animals. Barbara had a green thumb and loved tending to her garden and houseplants. She
loved to sit in the warm sun for hours, soaking it all in. The morning sun was her favorite
time of day. Seeing and spending time with her grandchildren had brought her immense joy
over the past few years.
Barbara was a beloved spouse, parent, sibling, grandmother, and great-grandmother,
whose warmth and love touched us all. Her sense of humor will be greatly missed.
Barbara is survived by her spouse, Patrick Tomasso; her sister, Janet Pethan; her two
daughters and son-in-law, Renae Coleman, John Coleman, and Jessica Hudson; her
stepson, Brandon Tomasso; her grandchildren, Jonathan Salazar, Andrew Gallegos,
Carmen Szarka, Lorelei Gates, Raven Kelly, Lochlin Kelly, and Jade Kelly; and her greatgrandchild,
Jayce Salazar. She was preceded in death by her father, John Brandt Jr., her
mother, Lorraine (Kagle) Brandt, and her two brothers, John Brandt III and Bruce Brandt.
A celebration of Barbara’s life will be held on a private date for family at the house she
shared with Patrick. Here we will gather, share memories, and honor Barbara.
Barbara Anne (Brandt) Hudson will be deeply missed and forever remembered in our
hearts.
