I met Roy when I was 12 years old, it was in the afternoon and when I opened the door I saw a tall young man, a handsome young man with red hair. I am your Cousin Roy and I said Hello. Little did I know at that time the important role that young man would play in my life. Angie was with him and I learned my connection to him was that my sweet Aunt Viola was his mother. I have so many fond memories of Roy, it was hard to choose the one that would reflect what I felt about Roy. In the early seventies I was blessed with the opportunity to live with Roy and Angie when they lived in South San Francisco.They made me feel more than welcomed and I became for little while part of the family. I loved and adored Josie and Beni. What I remember most about my cousin Roy during that time  was that he was a soft spoken man, a proud man, a good man, that he loved Angie and Josie and Beni and even me unconditonally.He was a hard worker, he was kind and patient, he loved playing his guitar and interacting with extended family members who lived in the same area at the time. Family and love for family was vitally important to Roy. I loved the ocean, had read about ocean, and  I wanted to see the ocean and Roy took me to see the ocean for the very first time.. As life happens we took different roads and began different journeys, but I would contine to be influenced by time I spent with Roy and Angie. He meant the world to me and I loved him with all of my heart. My sorrrow lies in that I would now never have the chance to see my cousin Roy again, however by a chance encounter by my brother I was able to reconnect with Roy and I was able to speak briefly with him a few weeks ago had I known then what I know today I would of spent more time with him. Life is fragile and a gift we are given only by the grace of God each and everyday. Angie,Josie,Beni and Susie my thought and my prayers are with you. Roy was strong in his faith as I see by things that are wriiten about him, comfort and support each other. He will be sorely missed by everyone family or friend that he came in contact with, but especially by his family, that is why memories become treasures. As long as I have my memories of Roy he will always to contnue to be here with me.Even though years and distance across an ocean to be exact kept us apart Roy and Angie and Josie and Beni never left my heart. For what ever reason I was not meant to physically see Roy again. I do intend to make a full circle and return to my roots and to see Angie, Josie, Beni and Susie for when I do I will once again be seeing Roy for he is all of them.
Precious memoreis is the legacy Roy left to all of us.

Sent a gift in memory of Benito Rumaldo Sawyer

Ben was a wonderful example of living life to the fullest. He lived for Jehovah, faithfully devoting every possible moment to share the beautiful hope for the future as foretold in God's word, the Bible.  He married the love of his life and best friend Maria Angelina (Angie) on August 4, 1962, celebrating 53 years together. They were blessed with three children - Josie, Ben and Susie, four grand children - Monica, Daniel, Joshua and Angelo, who he raised like his own children and four great grand children. He is also survived by two sisters, Christina Gomez and Jacquelina Sawyer. His parents, Rumaldo and Viola Sawyer are deceased.  He was known by his family as ""Little Roy"" and will be remembered for his remarkable love, kindness, patience, always lending an ear and helping anyone in time of need, especially his children.  There are so many precious memories... one of his favorite thing was playing his guitar and singing, which will be greatly missed by his family.  Ben always took every opportunity to witness the good news about Jehovah God's Kingdom to everyone he met, especially those he loved.  Ben and Angie witnessed together since the time they dedicated there life in baptism. He was the best pioneer partner. His love and devotion to his creator, Jehovah God was the most cherished and valuable thing.  He wanted everyone to show their love and encourage one another. He will be greatly missed by all who loved and really knew him. He truly lived for Jehovah!
