Billie Dewade (Holt) Geisler, devoted wife, dear friend, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on May 7, 2025, at Hope West Hospice Care Center in Grand Junction, Colorado. She was 91 years old.
A resident of Grand Junction for nearly 50 years, Billie was a loving mother, homemaker, and gifted artist whose warmth and creativity touched all who knew her.
Born on August 26, 1933, in Siloam Springs, Arkansas, Billie was the daughter of William Holt and Cleo (Chase) Holt. Her family moved frequently during her early years, ultimately settling in Durango, Colorado, where she spent much of her youth.
Billie had four siblings: Ann Holt-Waters of New Mexico; Mable Lewis (Ray), who preceded her in death in Durango; Mary Woods (Duke), who preceded her in death in Texas; and Jackie Holt (Lee) of Grand Junction, Colorado.
Billie met her first husband, Ray Dennison, and together they had three children: Mike Dennison; Cynthia Dennison-Jones (David); and Deanna Dennison, who preceded her in death. Ray passed away early in their marriage.
Later in life, Billie met Alexander Geisler. Together they had one son, Christopher Geisler (Kele). In 1976, Billie and Alex relocated to Grand Junction, Colorado, where they built a life and called the valley home.
Billie was known for her talent as an artist, especially her oil paintings, which she often gave as heartfelt gifts to her loved ones. She took exceptional pride in her role as a homemaker and found joy in caring for her family. She cherished time spent with both immediate and extended family and was always happiest when surrounded by those she loved.
She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Sabrina Dennison, Amber Dennison-Jones (Tim), Aimee Whitman (Adam), Katerina Geisler (Andres), and Annaliese Geisler. Billie especially treasured time with her great-grandchildren: Jovan Marines, Joel Marines, Atticus Whitman, and Amelia Whitman.
She had numerous nieces and nephews whom she adored and who adored her in return—relationships that brought her great joy throughout her life.
Billie was the heart and soul of her family—the matriarch whose love, strength, and spirit brought everyone together. Her legacy of kindness, creativity, and devotion will live on in all who knew and loved her.
She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the joy of knowing her.
In accordance with Billie’s wishes, there will be no formal funeral service. Instead, the family will gather privately to honor her life and memory.
