October 31, 1943 - March 20, 2014
Surrounded by her family, Carol Elaine McKay passed on to her Heavenly Father, March 20, 2014, at the University of Colorado Hospital.
Carol was born October 31, 1943, in Golden, Colorado. She valiantly fought cancer for eight years.
Carol married Jerry in 1966, in Espanola, New Mexico. Carol and Jerry traveled all over the United States while he was in the Marine Corps. They returned to Colorado to live and raise their family.
Carol treasured her yearly trips to Florida with her daughter and granddaughter. She enjoyed her winter trips to Arizona with Jerry. She loved family camping trips, riding roller-coasters and bragging about her family. Carol was an accomplished church pianist and organist.
Carol is survived by her husband, Jerry; sons, Daniel, and David (Deborah) Thorne, and daughter, Deborah McCoy (William Baker). She is also survived by grandchildren, Jessica (Jason), Derek, Ashley, Mat and Bre; great-grandson, Caden; sister-in-law, Linda (Steve) Speir; numerous nephews and nieces, and many close friends including the Bounds and Shute families.
Carol loved the Lord and awaits her family in heaven. Carol and Jerry were married for 48 years and she devoted her life to him and their children.
Mom we can't thank you enough - enjoy heaven!
Graveside services at New Elmwood Cemetery, 1175 - 17 ¼ Road, Fruita on Friday, March 28 at 1:00pm.
