Connie Jean (Nielson) Baer passed away after a brief illness on February 14, 2024, in Grand Junction, Colorado. Connie was born January 12, 1949, in Phoenix, Arizona to Barbara Ruth Goode and Donald Nielson. She spent most of her childhood in Cortez, raised by her mother and very loved stepfather Leo Lewis, graduating from Montezuma-Cortez High School in 1967.
On September 2, 1967, she married Rick Baer in Las Vegas, Nevada. She and Rick resided mostly in Grand Junction where they raised two children. With her kind, generous spirit, Connie lived her life caring for others: her husband, children, grandchildren, and many clients at the Regional Center where she worked in the 90s. She was an exceptionally gifted quilter, knitter, and needleworker. Her family deeply cherishes her many beautiful creations and will profoundly miss her beautiful, bright smile and sweet nature.

Connie was preceded in death by her mother Barbara Lewis, her biological father Don Nielson, her brother Michael Nielson, and her beloved labrador, Jake.
Services will be held at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary in Grand Junction on March 11 at 1:00 pm.
