Dale Allen Greer

March 31, 1958 – September 2, 2024

Dale was born to Leona and Dean Greer, Sr., in Gary, Indiana. Dale grew up on the family farm in Lowell, Indiana.

In the mid 80’s, Dale followed his family to Western Colorado. For many years, Dale worked alongside his Dad and brothers managing the family business – Arnold’s Tire Shop in Hotchkiss.

Dale developed a passion for both working on and racing drag and street cars. The local track family affectionately nicknamed him “Grumpy.” Dale truly cherished that nickname but also stubbornly denied the title.

Dale was an honest man that led a quiet life. Those closest to him knew him to be a loyal friend that would do anything for anyone. Dale was a master handyman that worked in heavy equipment, construction, road building, remodeling and site clean ups. He was a true jack of all trades. Through his dedication to his craftmanship and tireless hard work, Dale developed many life-long and trusted friendships.

Dale is survived by his siblings: Dean, Doreen, and Duane; and two sons, Dale Jr. and David. He was proud to be a grandpa and a great-grandpa.

Dale left us all way too soon, and he will be deeply missed. A celebration of Dale’s life will be scheduled in the near future.
