We both had the pleasure of knowing Dan while working for contractors at the Department of Energy's Grand Junction Office.
Dan had an undeniable presence. He was gregarious, while being warm and always helpful. At "Employee All Hands" meetings, even if you were half asleep having endured an hour or more of talk, when it came time for Dan to update everyone on the Employees Association activities, you couldn't help but wake up! He was the heart and soul of that organization.

Dan always had more to give than he cared to receive. He made the world a better place, and we are all better for having known him.  Dan, you are missed.

To the family of Dan, my deepest sympathy and prayers in your loss. 
I worked with Dan at the DOE compound for several years.  He was in the warehouse and I was in property management, we were in the same group and worked closely  in a lot of what our jobs required.    He was such a help to me,  a very special person, who was always willing to give a hand when needed and with a smile!!   He made very day better for us all as he had such a wonderful  easy way of being a team player!!    I am thankful I got to know him and work with him...he was always encouraging and pleasant.   I am blessed to have worked with him.   Thanks Dan, for being such a good friend and co worker....you brightened all our days.....and you will be greatly missed  here, but not forgotten!     Rest in peace.  
To his family:   May the Lord grant you peace and comfort that only He can give.   May you know what a special person Dan was and I mourn with you his passing.     Know he lived his life  making  us all feel better each day!    God bless.   Lila Briggs

Dan was my friend and, I believe, I was his. He was always in good humor, kept a positive attitude, and made the Warehouse a pleasant place to work.

He adored his grandson and had fishin’ photos all over the office. He  was a great big ball of energy, a big man with a big heart and a big way of doing things. Dan was a character and the heart of the Warehouse. I considered it a privilege to work with him and a special, personal treat that he treated me with his customary warmth and humor. Dan was just a big kid, and made life happy, and I thought the world of him. Rest Easy, “Dunderwood”; we’ll see you on the other side. Shalom uv’rachah b’Yeshua HaMashiach. 💖
