David Matthew Maloney

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Calvary Chapel, 492 Morning Glory Lane in Grand Junction.

He is survived by his wife, Ann; a son, David Cale Maloney of Wilmette, Illinois; a daughter, Alyssa Dearborn of Fort Walton Beach, Florida; his mother, Harlene Maloney of Torrance, California; his father, David of Tucson, Arizona; a brother, Matthew of Palos Verdes, California; a sister, Sylvia Wagner of Torrance, California; and one grandchild.

David Matthew Maloney, 57, passed away December 25, 2015, from a cardiac event in his own home. He was born October 28, 1958, in Torrance, CA, to David and Harlene Maloney.

David spent his childhood in Torrance, graduating from South High School in Torrance. He earned his Associates of Art/HVAC Certificate from Eastern Wyoming College in Torrington, WY. David married Ann in Pinedale, WY. He was an air conditioning technician at St. Mary’s Hospital.

David’s interests included hunting, karate, fish tanks, spending time with his family, video games, going to movies, and outings with friends. Some of his favorite sayings were, “Let’s blow this popsicle stand!” “Why be afraid? What’s the worst thing that could happen? You die and go to heaven!” David was a member of Calvary Chapel in Grand Junction.

He is survived by his wife, Ann; father, David B. Maloney of Tucson, AZ; mother, Harlene Maloney of Torrance, CA; son, David C. (Rachel) Maloney of Chicago, IL; daughter, Alyssa (Scott) Dearborn of Fort Walton Beach, FL; brother, Matthew Maloney of Palos Verdes, CA; sister, Sylvia Wagner of Torrance, CA; grandchild, Royal Dearborn; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Services will be held January 2, 2016, at 11:00 am at Calvary Chapel, 492 Morning Glory Lane in Grand Junction.

Ann was David’s wife of 29 years, she wants to say “David was my love, my protector and Christian Warrior”.
