Dolores Rose Gronert

Dolores Rose Gronert (Spychalla) passed away quietly in her sleep the evening of Saturday, November 24, 2018. Born in Wisconsin on May 7, 1928, Dolores was the youngest sister of two brothers. Raised on the family potato farm in Antigo, Wisconsin, she always wanted to help people. She trained to be a Registered Nurse in Chicago, a vocation she followed for many years. Dolores married the love of her life, Lynch Gronert, a dentist, with whom she spent many happy years. They enjoyed living in Denver before moving to Grand Junction in 1989, where Dolores became a nurse at St. Mary’s hospital. A devout Catholic and an 18-year volunteer for Hope West/Hospice, Dolores continued to help people in her retirement. An avid bridge player, she also enjoyed mystery novels, walking, and water aerobics. Dolores was preceded in death by her youngest son, John; and her husband, Lynch. She is survived by her daughter, Kathe; and sons, Steve and Jim. There will be a Mass held at St. Joseph’s Church on Saturday, December 1, at 10.00 am.
