Survivors include one son, Robert of Atlanta; two daughters, Linda Bassler of Boise, Idaho, and Karen Madsen of Grand Junction; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Dorothea Werst, 89, died Tuesday, October 7, 2014, in Grand Junction, CO.
She worked with her husband for many years at Tommies Royal Blue supermarket, a family business in Mt. Sterling, Ohio. She enjoyed reading, playing golf and bridge, and spending time with her family.
She was born June 13, 1925, in Jerome Township, Union County, Ohio to the late Thomas Shields and Hildred Ashbaugh Sweeney.
She married Eugene Werst on March 15, 1946, and he preceded her in death on October 2, 2000. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Tom Sweeney; brother-in-law, Tom Midgley, and sisters-in-law, Artherine and Georgia.
Survivors include her two daughters, Karen (Mark) Madsen, Grand Junction, CO; Linda (Tom) Bassler, Boise, ID, and son, Bob (Chris) Werst, Johns Creek, GA; four grandchildren, Craig Madsen, Sarah Madsen, Leigh Dixon, and Alissa Rippee; and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Jean ""Dot"" Sweeney, Marysville, Ohio.
Burial will take place next to her husband at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.
