Edward L. Hackler
20 May, 1934 – 1 June, 2021
Edward L. Hackler, of Hotchkiss, passed away on June 1, 2021 in Hotchkiss. Edward was born on May 20, 1934, in Cloud Chief, Oklahoma, to Winton and Juanita (Williams) Hackler. He spent his childhood in Oklahoma and Texas, and graduated high school in 1952. Two years later, he moved to Colorado, where he would reside for the next 67 years. Edward married Pansy Boothe on May 31, 1957 in Clifton. Sadly, he passed away just one day after the couple’s 64th anniversary, which they were able to spend together. Edward joined the US Army in 1957, and served as a Sergeant First Class until he was honorably discharged in 1957. He went on to become an owner/operator of a construction business, and was very dedicated to his work. He and Pansie were members of the Bookcliff Baptist Church in Grand Junction. In Edward’s free time he enjoyed hunting and spending time at his cabin. Edward is survived by his loving wife, Pansie; daughters, Shari Hackler and Sandi Grippa, both of Hotchkiss, and Sindy Poundstone of Grand Junction; his sister, Greta Davis of Heart, Texas; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Private family services will be held.
