

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the mortuary.
Survivors include two sons, Robert of Minden, Nevada, and Carl of Grand Junction; one daughter, Judy Dial of Grand Junction; six grandchildren; and two grandchildren.

Florence Conner
January 23, 1921 - February 28, 2015
Florence Renata Rettig Conner was born January 23, 1921, to William Rettig and Amalia Lusthoff in Grand Junction, Colorado. Florence passed peacefully in the loving care of HopeWest Hospice on Saturday morning, February 28, 2015 at the age of 94.
Florence attended Columbus School, graduated from Grand Junction High School in 1940, and from Mesa Junior College in 1942.
She was married to Lewis S. Conner on May 23, 1944. Florence taught school for two years, she then devoted her following years to being a parent and homemaker. She was a member of the First Congregational Church, and an active member of their M & M Guild, a life member of VFW Post #4663 and a 4H leader for ten years. Florence was a lifelong resident of Orchard Mesa and as such was honored with being the first resident to traverse the new 29 Road bridge on June 14, 2006. She rode in a horse drawn white surrey, along with other dignitaries.
Florence was preceded in death by both parents, five brothers, one sister, and her husband, Lewis S. Conner in 1989.
Florence is survived by her sons, Robert S. (Susan) Conner, and Carl E. W. (Natalia) Conner; daughter, Judy M. (Don) Dial; grandsons, James M. Conner, Kevin J. Conner, Jon W. Conner and Scott E. Dial; granddaughters, Natalie Conner Higginson and Masha Conner, and great-granddaughters, Kayla and Savanah Conner.
Services will be held, in a celebration of her life, at Callahan -Edfast, 2515 Patterson Road, Grand Junction Colorado on Friday, March 6, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. with visitation on Thursday from 5 - 7:00 p.m. and Friday one hour before services. There will be no graveside services.
