Floyd Donald Rice, 83, went home to his Savior on January 24, 2014, after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease. He is survived by his loving and dedicated wife of 53 years, Glenda; two sons, Alan (Dorothy), and Duane (Stephanie); daughter, Dorla; grandchildren, DJ, Krystal (Jon), and Kimmie (Gerod); great-grandchildren, Dorien, Justin, Brock, Gabby, and Lily; two sisters, Ruthie and Donna, and his brother, Joe (Harriet).
Don spent his life working hard as Supervisor of Building and Grounds for RE-1 School District in Glenwood Springs, Colorado during the early years. After retiring, he and Glenda moved to Grand Junction, where he worked at PeachTree True Value and Tiara Rado. He was a loving and devoted husband and father. He loved his God, golf, the outdoors and woodworking. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. We rest in the knowledge that he is at peace with his Lord and Savior.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, a donation be made to any of the following charities in memory of Don Rice: Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research; HopeWest Hospice of Grand Junction; Monument View Bible Church - Fruita.
