Gary Dean Alford

Gary was born January 22, 1965, in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was the youngest of five siblings to parents, John and Sallie Alford, who preceded him in death.

Gary served a two-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the Roseville, California Mission.

Gary met and married Catherine on May 27, 1987. They were married for all time and eternity in the Salt Lake Temple August 16, 1990. Together they raised two beautiful daughters, Sallie Lynne Alford and Katrina Ann Alford.

Gary was known for his quiet strength and compassionate nature. He was always lending a helping hand or a shoulder to lean on. Gary always went the extra mile in all that he did and was a wonderful example of a disciple of Christ. He loved his God and his family. He enjoyed playing with his nieces and nephews and going to garage sales to find the perfect deal.

He is survived by his wife, Catherine; daughters, Sallie and Katrina; brothers, Jerry (Janelle) Kershner of Grand Junction, and John (Melissa) Alford of the state of Washington; and two sisters, Kelly (Melvin) Bergman of Braman, Oklahoma, and Kathy (Kendall) Glad of Grand Junction, Colorado. Uncle Gary was loved and treasured by several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, April 16, at 10am at Orchard Mesa Cemetery.
