He was a draftsman.
Survivors include one daughter, Julie Whitenack of Fredricksburg, Virginia; and four grandchildren.
Gregory Donald Rait, 69, of Grand Junction went to be with the Lord on November 15, 2016, after a brief illness. He was born in Grand Junction on February 20, 1947, to Robert and Floriene Hornbaker Rait.
He graduated from Grand Junction High School in 1965, and then graduated from Western State College. He married Pamela McLeod on December 29, 1973. She preceded him in death on August 12, 1999, after a battle with cancer, during which he faithfully cared for her. He is also preceded in death by his son, Daniel Gregory, who died after a brief illness in 2003, and his sister, Cindy Dunlap.
He spent his career in sales, as a motel operator, and as a residential designer/drafter. He enjoyed the outdoors: 4-wheeling, canoeing, camping, cross-country skiing, and fishing on Grand Mesa. He also enjoyed building things, gardening, and spending time with family and friends. He attended First Presbyterian and Monument Presbyterian Church for most of his life.
He is survived by his daughter, Julia; son-in-law, Sean; and grandchildren, Liam, Grace, Madeleine, and Jonathan Whitenack of Fredericksburg, Virginia.
A memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church in Grand Junction at 11:00 on Tuesday, November 22, 2016.
