Mom was raised in St. Louis, attended Northwestern University in Chicago, and eventually found her way to Denver. She met and married Richard Clothier there, and they were together for 48 years, until his passing in 2010.
Mom’s greatest love after family was travel. For years, the family toured the Western U.S. with their beloved Wheel Camper, covering Texas to Montana, and Colorado to California. Later on, as a mother of an airline employee, first with Dad and later solo, she took full advantage of her travel benefits. They even made it as far as St. Petersburg, Russia.
Mom would describe herself as frugal and feisty. It was the feistiness that endeared her to most that knew her. She loved her coffee and cocktails, especially a good Manhattan. If you made it with Irish whiskey, she would call it a “Dubliner”.
Mom is preceded in death by her husband Richard, one son Timothy, and her sister Doris Babbitt.
Mom is survived by another son Edward, daughter-in-law Sabrina, and grandson Timothy Jr.
Words are not enough to thank Colorado VCLC for the care given to Mom in her final days. Donations may be made in her name to Episcopal Relief and Development. A service will be held at the (Episcopal) Church of the Nativity, 2175 Broadway, in the Redlands on Wednesday, July 16, 2025 @10:00am.
