

JL, know best as “Red”, was born to Willie C. and Emma M. (Rector) Harris on April 6, 1924 in Colbert Oklahoma. Red spent his childhood in Oklahoma before moving to Olathe, Kansas where he married the love of his life; Joenell Phillips in 1946. It wasn’t until 1977 that the family moved to Molina, Colorado where Red built his turf farming business. Red was a member of the Molina Baptist Church. His primary hobby was gardening. Red had a positive outlook on life and used to say “Aint no bad days, just some better than others.” He will be missed dearly.
Red is preceded in death by his spouse; Joenell, and daughter Jaqueline Lee Harris. As well as all of his loving siblings; LD, Loren E., Leon, Esther A., RW, AJ, and Wayne Harris.
Red is survived by his son’s James Patrick (Linda) Harris and John Lawson (Kathy) Harris. Five grandchildren; Jake Lawson (Jennie) Harris, Shiela Louise Harris, Jimmy John (Lisa) Harris, Joseph Robert (Jessica) Harris, and Jerry Wayne (Melissa) Harris. 15 great-grandchildren; Cheyenne Iola Duer, Cody Joseph Duer, Jarren Lawson Harris, Desirea Michelle Nelson, Kelcey Nelson, Hailey Kay Harris, Laci Joenell Harris, McKayla Harris, Jayden Harris, Dominic Cress, Paige Harris, Jay Harris, David Hakin, Jennifer Hakin, and Tabitha Hakin. And one great great-grandchild; Mason Nelson.
A funeral service for Red is planned for Saturday, June 14, at 10AM at the Molina Baptist Church with graveside services to follow at the Molina cemetery.
