He is survived by two sons, John of Clifton and David of Grand Junction; a sister Pat Carroll of Idaho; and three grandchildren.

James Price Rankin
December 15, 1921 - February 6, 2015
James Price Rankin, son of Rex and Constance Rankin, was born on December 15, 1921, in Grand Junction and passed away on February 6, 2015, at the Colorado State Veterans Home in Rifle. He graduated from Grand Junction High School in 1940 and from Mesa Junior College in 1942. He was a member of the Delta Zeta Phi fraternity.
James joined the army in 1942, and served 40 months. He attended specialized courses at the University of Missouri and Quarter Master's School in Camp Lee, Virginia. He served the last 18 months in Alaska and was honorably discharged in 1945 as a Technical Sergeant.
On December 29, 1945, he married Betty Delp of Grand Junction. James was the secretary/treasurer of both Redlands Water & Power and the Grand Junction Rural Fire Department. He was a Realtor and president of Grand Junction Board of Realtors. James was an Elder at the 1st Presbyterian Church, a 32° Mason, a Shriner and was involved with other civic organizations. After retiring he volunteered at the VA in Grand Junction.
Survivors include his sons, John (Bonnie) Rankin of Clifton, and David (Susan) Rankin of Grand Junction; sister, Pat Carroll of Idaho; three grandchildren, Rebecca Rankin, Annie (Ron) Rucker, and Mary Rankin. He is preceded in death by his wife, Betty; sisters, Shirley and Sara, and grandson, Josh.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, February 17, at 1:00 p.m. at Orchard Mesa Cemetery.
