Born to Arne and Emma Dahle on September 17, 1947, Janice grew up in the scenic surroundings of northern Minnesota, spending her early years near Thief River Falls, Lake Superior, and Duluth. At the age of 18, she ventured west to Denver, Colorado, where she built a life filled with love and strong relationships.
While working at Security Life, Janice met the love of her life, Bradford L. Ramer. They were married on August 4, 1973, and in 1980, they moved to Palisade, Colorado, where they built their home and farm—a place that would become a haven for family, friends, and countless others over the years.
Janice was known for her boundless generosity and her open heart. Whether it was a family dinner, a backyard BBQ, or one of her famous taco nights, she welcomed everyone with warmth and kindness. Her home was a sanctuary of comfort, laughter, and love.
In 1997, Jan and Brad began fostering children, opening their hearts and home to those in need of care and stability. Jan found deep purpose in caregiving, extending her love not only to the children who lived with them but also to their families and beyond. Her nurturing spirit left a lasting impact on everyone she touched.
After Brad’s passing in 2016, Janice found joy in having her daughter Katie, son-in-law Michael, and their children move in nearby. She cherished the daily visits from her youngest grandchildren—whether they came for a snack, a hug, or just to sit and watch TV together.
Janice is survived by her daughter, Katie Lynn Grove (Michael), daughter, Sherry Beth Ramer (Steven), Stepdaughters, Robin Morthlan (Ken), Stepdaughter Sandra Harris (Tom), numerous grandchildren and foster children who were blessed by her love
Janice’s legacy is one of compassion, strength, and unwavering kindness. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
