Jim Pollock, born in Clarksville, Texas, lived a life defined by service, craftsman, and curiosity, and a deep devotion to the people he loved. A proud United States Marine Corps Vietnam veteran, he carried the values of honor, courage, and commitment throughout his life.
A true world traveler, Jim embraced every opportunity to explore new places, cultures, and experiences. Whether building homes with his skilled hands or creating home décor pieces in his woodworking shop, he poured care and precision into everything he touched. His gourmet cooking brought people together, his bookshelves reflected a lifelong love of reading, and his unwavering loyalty to the Dallas Cowboys was a constant source of joy and spirited conversation.
Jim’s greatest pride, however, was always his family. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sharon; daughter, Sabrina, and son-in-law, Scott Phillips; son, Brian Pollock; grandchildren, Paul, Trenton, and Wila Pollock; honorary granddaughter, Ellie Jewell; sister-in-law, Jean Preston; and favorite cousins, Ryan Kelly, Travis, and Blake Abbott, each of whom held a special place in his heart. His love for them was steady, generous, and unmistakable.
In his final chapter, Jim deeply appreciated the compassionate and attentive care he received from HopeWest Hospice. Their support brought comfort, dignity, and peace to both him and his family.
He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, craftsmanship, adventure, and devotion. Those who knew him will remember his warm presence, his stories from around the world, his laughter in the kitchen, and the way he made every gathering feel like home.
Jim’s life was rich, full, and beautifully lived. His memory will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to share in his journey.
