The planets aligned on January 22, 2016 and created a stairway to heaven for Reverend Joe Booker of Fruita Colorado. Joe will be remembered best for his generosity as a Methodist minister and as the ultimate volunteer throughout his 92 years. Joe and Mrs. Jo, his wife of 69 years, were married in the Fruita Methodist church, and that is where we will gather for a memorial service on January 30 at 11:00 am to celebrate his life.
As a member of The Greatest Generation, Joe proudly served as a Marine in the South Pacific in WWII and received the Purple Heart with an oak leaf cluster for being twice wounded during his service to America. We welcome you to join the Honor Guard to pay your respects to Corporal Booker at 1:00 pm at the Orchard Mesa Cemetery on Wednesday, January 27.
As a native of Colorado, Joe loved to spend his spare time fishing and visiting with friends over coffee. So, for those of you who have heard the stories, his children and grand children will verify that the fish really were that big. The house that Jesus has prepared for Joe will surely be next to a coffee shop with a Beaver pond and a stream near by.
