

Larry was born in Torrington, Wyoming on July 15, 1944. He graduated from the University of Wyoming, then was employed in Denver, Colorado, where he also did post-graduate studies. He entered the University of Southern California where he earned the Doctorate of Optometry in 1972. Returning to Denver, he was employed by Kaiser Permanente and the Veterans Hospital Administration.
In Denver Larry met the love of his life, Jodie Cassell, and they were married on July 19, 1975. Dr. Goddard practiced optometry in Colorado and Wyoming for 41 years. He was the owner of Torrington Vision Clinic for 28 years. In addition to his practice, Larry was a successful artist and developer of anatomical diagrams of the human eye. Dr. Goddard holds a patent for an eye care device. After retirement Larry and Jodie moved to Grand Junction, Colorado. Larry was a wonderful cook, as well as a talented pianist. He enjoyed a lifelong passion of aviation.
Larry is proceeded in death by his father, Chet, and mother, Mareen. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Jodie; sister, Joyce and John Vandel of Laramie, Wyoming; brother, Greg and Connie Goddard of Buffalo, Wyoming; and sister, Karen and Russell Bandemer of Torrington, Wyoming.
A celebration of his life will happen at the home of Larry and Jodie in Grand Junction on Saturday, September 17. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lion’s Club of Grand Junction, P.O. Box 1948, Grand Junction, CO 81502, and Children’s Vision Programs.
