Liisa Marie George

Liisa was born on May 9, 1966 in Huron, SD to Robert and Katherine Hecht. Growing up, Liisa was a talented pianist, and a noted member of 4-H, successfully competing in cooking, baking and crafts. She loved spending time with her older brother, Brian, who was always very protective of her. The family would often spend time camping, noting that as their favorite family pastime.The Hecht family moved to Grand Junction, CO in 1980 where Liisa attended Central High School, graduating in 1984.

Liisa married Kenneth George in 1988 and they had two children, Tarrin Caitlyn & Curtis Jacob. Liisa enjoyed working on the family peach farm in Palisade along with other successful businesses with Ken over the years. Liisa would volunteer at every school function for her children. Liisa also enjoyed traveling to Phoenix to visit her mother and stepfather to help at their floral business during the holidays.

Liisa was an avid bookworm and lover of the outdoors. She especially loved her time on Grand Mesa at the cabin, riding fourwheelers & fishing. You could often find her hovering over a puzzle or with a book next to the fire. She valued being present for her loved ones, and loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Liisa was a strong soul who radiated positivity to all those around her. She was the definition of strength and perseverance. Liisa was strong, empathetic, loving, positive, witty and beautiful.

Remaining to cherish Liisa’s memory are her two children, Tarrin (Levi) Miller & Curtis George of Palisade, CO; her four grandchildren Jesse, Alayna, Atlas & Henry; and her parents, Bob & Kathy Martin of Grand Junction, CO.

She is preceded in death by her father, Robert Hecht, and her brother, Brian Hecht.

Memorial services will be held January 9 2025 at 2:00 PM at Callahan Edfast Mortuary with a reception to follow.
