Lola was born on September 16, 1926, in Falkner, Mississippi, to Charles Denton Jamieson and Ruthie Mae Richardson. She grew up in Falkner, Mississippi and Olathe Colorado. Over the years she made homes in Sunnymead, California, Phoenix, Arizona, Amarillo, Texas, Yakima, Washington, Portland, Oregon, Port Angeles, Washington and Grand Junction, Colorado. She married James Locke in 1943, and later married Robert Swenson in 1972.
A gifted drapery seamstress, Lola took pride in her craft. She especially enjoyed sewing, singing, playing the guitar, and being active in her church. She was a devoted member of Bethel Assembly of God.
Lola is preceded in death by her parents, her five sisters Bessy, Lilly, Mildred, O'Leta, and Dorothy, her son Earl Kimble Locke and Granddaughter Shandy Case. She is survived by her son Berl (Kelly) Locke of Phoenix, Arizona, her stepsons Robert (Robin) Swenson of Lake Tapps, Washington, and Jim (Patty) Swenson of Port Angeles, Washington, her daughters Gala (Bill) Case of Grand Junction, Colorado, and Mavis (Joe) Bounds of Grand Junction, Colorado, her stepdaughters Sue (Bruce) Beamer of Oak Harbor, Washington, and Sharon Yakanak of Anchorage, Alaska, and her sister Sue Climents of Cordes Lakes, Arizona, as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on September 30, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Martin Mortuary in Grand Junction as well as a Funeral Service on October 1 ,2025 at 1 1 a.m. at Martin Mortuary. A committal service will take place at Veterans Memorial Cemetery of Western Colorado in Grand Junction on October 1, 2025, at 1: OO p.m.
Lola will be deeply missed by all who loved her.
